Lakeside Carpentry is owned and operated by Jeremy LaVigne. Jeremy grew up in a small town near St. Cloud, MN where he did construction work in the summer since the age of 16. He was a state champ wrestler in high school and continued wrestling in college in Fargo, ND where he earned a bachelors degree in biological science education. During his college years he worked construction in the summer, as a lead carpenter. He took a teaching and coaching position at Chisago Lakes, MN after finishing his bachelor’s degree. For three years he taught science and continued doing construction work during the summer. He earned a masters degree in education in 1999 and spent two years working with several school districts in Wisconsin where he discovered his appreciation of northwestern WI and the river valley area. He continued his construction work on the side and in 2002 decided that building and designing were his true calling. He started Lakeside Carpentry, Inc. with the goal of building custom, rustic homes. In 2005 Lakeside Carpentry teamed up with Northwoods Log Homes serving as dealer/builder for their homes.

Jeremy, his wife Monica and daughter Sophia live in a log home north of St. Croix Falls, WI. They had the dream of building a log home, and they accomplished that in 2006. They use their home as a model to show customers interested in building a rustic home.
